The albinos of Tanzania are the victims of a macabre hunt. This East African state’s witch doctors (mgangas) have decreed that the blood, skin, hair and limbs of the albino bring good luck and power to all of those who possess them.
Today, charging colossal sums of money, miners and fisherman of the great lake region have taken to hunting albinos. A pitiless hunt. About fifty albinos have already been killed.
Some of them fled to Zanzibar, where the strong Muslim faith is not shaken by the beliefs of witch doctors and where an association has been set up to help the albinos.
Mohamed, like so many others, has found asylum on Ungja Island, after having been aggressed by two armed men in Dar es-Salaam.
This documentary proposes to meet these refugees, who are trying to rebuild their lives not far from the continent where they were persecuted.
